Since 70 years in Italy the production of high quality milk has triggered a virtuous cycle that allows one of the greatest Italian product like the Parmesan DOC to be the world leader in the dairy sector.
The export of Parmigiano is towed to the whole field of Italian cheeses. From January to August 2011, the sector has increased its exports of 5.79% compared to the previous year by reaching alone the 12% of the value of all the Italian food sector.
These data were announced during the event dedicated to the Italian quality milk "Milk in progress" that was held in Milan on December 1, promoted by SIVAR - Italian Society for Veterinary Livestock.
